Pedagogical Documentation

Documenting children is a process, and more than just a display of children’s work. We observe the children daily to listen to their play and interactions but also how they engage with the materials and the environment. Pedagogical documentation comes in many forms but the idea is to make learning visible in such a way it allows the teacher to understand the underlying meaning of children’s words and actions and inform teacher research. It supports the growth of the teacher to reflect upon the practices provided, how we respond to children as a result of the new information gained, and the children become part owners of the curriculum.
